Ars Silentium Photography gives your wall the makeover it deserves

I, a nature artist, roam where charm dwells,
In awe of nature’s beauty, my heart swells.
Every stroke on its canvas finds its place,
An artwork in vivid colours to embrace.

Among the ancient trees, whispers I hear,
They state their wisdom every passing year.
Through forests, fields and over hills, I roam,
Inspiration I do seek, finding my home.

Poetic Art

A wall that once was depressing and bland,
No more, with splendid nature in thy hand.
The artwork shall bring a breath of fresh air,
To thy home, the wall will no longer be bare.

My art is enticing and poetic,
With its striking and pleasing aesthetic.
It blesses thy dwelling, I hope for sure,
A haven from chaos ever to endure.

Nature, with its tranquil, calming effect,
In today’s rush, it is perfect deflect.
Decelerating, soothing, and serene,
With life added to the wall, a peaceful scene.

Ars Silentium Photography on two different mediums

Canson Arches Aquarelle Rag Fine Art Paper

Fine Art prints are also known as Giclée prints. French printmaker Jack Duganne introduced these prints in the early 90s. The French verb giclée, which means to spray forth the liquid, is the root of its name. With this method, an inkjet printer sprays ink onto a surface.

The print you get uses Epson UltraChrome Pro pigments on premium cotton paper. Canson Arches Aquarelle Rag has a watercolour texture and a natural feel. Its grammage is 310 g/m2, and the glossy level is a deep matte.

Canson is a French company which manufactures Fine Art paper since 1557. The founder of the business is Jacques Montgolfier. In 1801 the name Canson first emerged. Today, Canson uses a traditional cylinder mould process for its paper mills. It is the only paper company in France that does that.
The closest thing to handmade paper produces this method, which is one of its benefits. But without the disadvantages like defects and irregularities.

The prints don’t have a frame or white border.

Aluminium Dibond

Dibond, invented in the mid-60s, is a brand name for a rigid composite material. Today it belongs to the Swiss company 3A Composites.
Due to advancing technology, printing on Aluminium Dibond got possible in the 90s. Since then, the media has become the material artists most like to use. Both galleries and museums use Dibond to present works of art in style. It is among the most robust materials there is.

Two 3 mm thin, white-coated aluminium plates sandwich a black polyethene core. A 7-colour printing process with UV Fine Art inks makes the image durable.
Dibond is UV- and water-resistant and thus suitable for sheltered outdoor areas. It can also hang in the bathroom and the kitchen. The colours do not fade and remain for good.
The surface of the print is reflection-free and matte. Lighter areas have a slight shimmer.

How I calculate my Ars Silentium Photography prices

I charge about double the price of the photo lab to my collectors. Let us say the print is €150. The Ars Silentium Photography artwork then costs around €300. I include shipping expenses, customs fees, vouchers, and producing art in the price.
Shipping costs in Europe are around €20 to €40 plus customs duties. Gift vouchers cost about €10. The rest of the price goes to me.

Getting to locations, spending time in the field, and processing images, takes a lot of time. I sometimes come home empty-handed. Finding compositions, and getting the mood right, is time-consuming. I never know what I discover or don’t discover.
The costs and maintenance of the website come at a price, too. I do everything myself.

Partnership with Tree-Nation

I partnered with Tree-Nation. Reforestation of the planet is the organisation’s goal. Since its beginning in 2006, the cost of a tree is now cheaper. The price fell from €50 to around €1 thanks to sponsors. Today, it is easier to plant trees.
For every Ars Silentium Photography you buy, you get a gift voucher from the company. With the gift voucher, you can plant ten trees.
Visit the Tree-Nation website to see the planting projects.
